Mickey Paea is a Rugby League International who represents Tonga, the country of his descent. who also plays for Hull FC in the Super League in England, after having played in the NRL for much of his career and also having captained the Australian U19 team.
Mickey grew up in a rough neighbourhood and was hardened playing Rugby with the older boys often on concrete with no thought to the broken glass that lay strewn around. One of Mickey’s greatest supporters was his mum always cheering him on and that is one of his fondest memories.
As a teen Mickey came to a crossroads and had some tough choices to make to decide which way his life was going to go. Fortunately for Mickey and for Rugby league fans around the World he made the right decision and later as he discovered what his faith truly meant he really found that his platform as a Rugby player wasn’t just about him after all but others especially Orphans and the Fatherless.
