Jesse Sene – Lefao is an international Rugby League player who represents Samoa. Born in New Zealand of Samoan heritage. Currently he plays in England for the Castleford Tigers in the Super League, where in his first season in 2017 He was part of the team that won the League Leaders shield and also the team that played in the Grand Final that year.
Although Jesse was fortunate to grow up with his family most of the time life wasn’t easy for him living between his own parents and his Grandparents with a lot of going back and forth. His biggest challenge came when he had to emigrate to Australia and as the only child of colour in his school, he faced a lot of obstacles in fighting to gain acceptance and belonging.
His journey to becoming a Rugby professional wasn’t easy either and getting to the top took courage patience and more than anything his faith in God.
