Akwasi Frimpong is a Dutch-Ghanaian sprinter, bobsledder and skeleton athlete. Akwasi recently made history as Ghana’s first ever Skeleton athlete and only their second ever Winter Olympian, at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea .
Growing up without his parents and with his Grandmother and moving from Ghana to the Netherlands where he lived as an illegal alien for 13 years. As an athlete he had a God given dream of competing in the Olympics. It would take 17 years till he fulfilled that dream becoming Ghana’s first ever skeleton athlete at the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.
